Wild Wonders

At Wild Wonders, I perform animal husbandry for about 50 different species of ambassador animals. This includes administering medication, creating diets/behavioral enrichment, crate training, and educating the public about species conservation through offsite outreach programs and onsite tours. I also help to train new interns and volunteers that come onboard. One unique contribution I've brought to Wild Wonders is introducing a new method of behavioral enrichment for the birds at Wild Wonders, paper pineapples, that they enjoy shredding and tearing apart, which they would do with their prey in the wild. This is something I adapted from seeing what kind of behavioral enrichment the birds of prey receive at the Safari Park when I worked with their ambassadors.

After an internship and many months of volunteering, I was asked to join the team as a Relief Keeper! I'm very excited to welcome these new challenges as a staff member and become a better educator and keeper.
