Fort Worth Zoo

As an intern for the bird department, I performed husbandry procedures for the zoo's collection of over 100 different species of birds. I administered medication and vitamins, answered guest inquiries, provided behavioral enrichment to stimulate natural behaviors, learned about hand-rearing birds/egg incubation, & conducted welfare assessments. This includes caring for exhibit birds as well as ambassadors that participated in training sessions and "keeper talks." This was such a fantastic learning experience to learn about all different kinds of birds!
